The SRA Handbook sets out the standards and requirements that all practising solicitors must adhere to when working with clients. Available in a handy single volume, the Handbook covers all of the SRA compliance requirements including the Code of Conduct, the Accounts Rules and the other rules of professional conduct.

This new edition of the Handbook will update you on the latest changes and obligations in version 21 (6 December 2018).

Key changes to this edition include:

  • introduction of the Transparency Rules to ensure members of the public and small businesses have the information that they need to make an informed choice of legal services provider (such as costs and regulatory protection)
  • changes to the SRA Financial Services (Scope) Rules 2001 and the SRA Financial Services (Conduct of Business) Rules 2001 to reflect the IDD requirements and consequential changes to the SRA Handbook Glossary 2012
  • changes to the SRA Minimum Terms and Conditions of Professional Indemnity Insurance (Appendix 1 to the SRA Indemnity Insurance Rules 2013). which remove barriers to firms that wish to leave SRA regulation and switch to another approved regulator.
